How Often Should I Rotate Tesla Tires in Florida Humidity and Heat?

Tesla and other EVs put more stress on tires than most gas cars: instant torque, heavy battery packs, and strong regenerative braking. In Southwest Florida, hot pavement multiplies that wear. The casual "every other oil change" rotation habit does not map well to electric driving.

For many Model 3 and Model Y owners commuting on I-75, University Parkway, or coastal routes, a 5,000-mile rotation interval is a practical target. That is tighter than some OEM calendars and closer to how rubber actually ages in Gulf Coast heat. Directional and staggered performance packages may limit how you rotate; the goal is still even tread and honest inspections.

Humidity does not "melt" tires, but heat does raise carcass temperature and accelerate shoulder wear when pressures are low. Check cold PSI against the door placard, not the sidewall max. Uneven inside-edge wear can also flag alignment, not only EV torque.
